My Leave
What My Leave is for
My Leave is where you submit leave requests, see what you have available, track the requests you have already made, and — if you also work overtime — submit custom-schedule (OT) requests.
Open it from My Stuff → My Leave in the left menu.
Companion guides
This page is the UI tour. For step-by-step workflows see:
- Apply for leave — the employee process guide: picking a leave type, attaching a certificate, editing or cancelling later, returning early.
- Manage your team's leave — the manager process guide: approving, rejecting, the chain-manager rule, stand-in selection, creating leave on someone's behalf, overriding an unpaid split.
- Leave request statuses field definitions — the data dictionary for every status badge (
PENDING,APPROVED,EDIT_PENDING,CANCEL_PENDING, …).
Approvals are no longer here
A blue banner at the top of the page reminds you: pending leave and OT approvals have moved to the dedicated Pending Approvals page (visible to every manager in the chain — first decision wins). Click Open Pending Approvals in the banner to jump there.
The tabs
My Leave uses tabs along the top. Some are visible to everyone, some only to managers and HR.
Apply for Leave (everyone)
Where you submit a new leave request. See the companion guide Apply for leave for the step-by-step.
- Pick a leave type and the page shows your Available balance plus days already reserved for pending or approved requests.
- Choose Days, Morning Half Day, Afternoon Half Day or Custom Hours.
- Add a start date and (for Days) a return-to-work date — the page works out working days, weekends and public holidays for you.
- Attach a supporting document (mandatory for some leave types — sick leave, for example).
- If you are a manager, pick a stand-in to cover approvals while you are off.
Apply for Custom Schedule (everyone)
For people whose hours fall outside the standard schedule — overtime, shift extensions, weekend work. Pick a Date, Start Time and End Time, optionally add a reason, and submit.
This tab also shows:
- Shifts Assigned to You — when your manager has rostered you onto a shift that needs your Approve / Reject decision.
- Manager Counter-Proposed Times — when a manager has changed the hours on one of your requests and is asking you to Accept or Reject the new times.
- My Custom Schedule Requests — every OT request you have submitted, with status badges (
PENDING,APPROVED,REJECTED,COUNTER_PROPOSED, etc.) and a cancel button while it is still cancellable.
Create Leave for Employee (managers and HR only)
Lets you submit and auto-approve leave on behalf of someone in your manager scope. Pick the employee, then the leave type, dates and duration. The form mirrors the Apply for Leave layout but the request is approved as you submit.
When the requested days exceed the employee's balance, you choose at submit time whether to mark the shortfall as unpaid or to allow a negative balance on the primary leave type. See Manage your team's leave for when to use which.
My Balances (everyone)
A single row per leave type with:
- Entitlement — how many days the policy gives you per cycle
- Accrued — how many of those have unlocked so far
- Carried Over — what came across from the previous cycle (expires when the previous-cycle expiry date passes)
- Taken — what you have already used this cycle
- Balance — what is still available
- Cycle Period — the start and end of the current accrual cycle
If you are a BCEA-exempt employee with banked OT, a Banked Time panel appears above the balance table, listing each banked entry (Date Earned, Earned, Used, Remaining, Expires).
My Leave History (everyone)
Every leave request you have ever submitted, with Leave Type, Start, End, Duration, Manager, Status and Comment. From here you can:
- Edit a request that is still editable (see Apply for leave for what "editable" means at each status).
- Cancel a request that is still cancellable.
- View WO to jump to the work-order timeline.
- Upload an outstanding Certificate (e.g. medical) for sick-leave types that require one — overdue ones show a yellow banner at the top of the tab.
Tips
- The page deep-links: opening
?leaveId=<id>jumps you straight to the request and opens its dialog. Notification emails use this. - The Reason field on a leave request is optional but managers tend to approve faster when they do not have to ask.
- Custom schedule requests must fall on a single date (start and end on the same day).
- Half-day leave counts as 0.5 days against your balance.
